Events of 2024

In 2024, we proudly hosted a series of events aimed at empowering the queer community in their professional and academic journeys. Through workshops, networking opportunities, and community-building activities, we created inclusive spaces that encouraged growth, connection, and support. Our efforts focused on equipping individuals with the tools and confidence to thrive, celebrating their unique identities while championing their success.

Resume Workshop

In September 2024, we hosted a dynamic and engaging Resume Workshop in collaboration with Equip and StartProud. This event was designed to empower participants with essential resume-building skills, providing valuable insights on crafting impactful resumes to stand out in today's competitive job market. Attendees had the opportunity to receive personalized feedback, learn best practices, and connect with industry professionals.

Queer Trivia

In September 2024, we hosted a Queer Trivia Night at Clark Hall Pub, bringing the community together for an evening of engaging questions and friendly competition. The event celebrated diversity and provided a fun, inclusive space for participants to test their knowledge and connect with others.
 

Tote Bag Painting with Yellow House

In November 2024, we held a Queer Tote Bag Painting event that offered attendees a chance to create personalized tote bags in a relaxed and welcoming environment at the Yellow House. The event provided a space for creativity and self-expression while bringing the community together in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

Queer Party Night:
Pink Pony Club 

Pink Pony Night charity queer dance party and mixer brought together over 200 attendees in support of a local Kingston Women’s Shelter. Organized in collaboration with the Queen’s University Swifties Club, the event featured music by DJ Mina Saban and raised $1,319 to help provide essential services to women in need. The event's success reflects the dedication of the Q+ executive team and the strong community support for fostering inclusivity and making a tangible impact.

Social Initiatives

In 2024,we strengthened our executive team through meaningful team-building activities, reflecting our commitment to valuing each member's contributions. These initiatives fostered connection, collaboration, and a positive environment for achieving our shared goals together.
